Does the sensor work on 5GHz WiFi networks?
No. This detector is exclusively compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi networks (802.11 b/g/n standard). Please ensure your router broadcasts on this band before configuration; most modern routers do this automatically.
Is the battery included?
No, the 9V alkaline battery is not included. We recommend using a high-quality branded alkaline battery for maximum longevity; the sensor will automatically alert you when the voltage drops below 6.5V.
Can I receive notifications when I’m away from home?
Yes. As long as the sensor is connected to WiFi and your phone has internet access, the Tuya Smart app will send instant push notifications, no matter where you are.
Where should I install the sensor?
Mount it on the ceiling in the centre of the room, at least 30 cm away from walls. It is ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, or server rooms. Avoid installing it directly above a cooker, as cooking steam may trigger false alarms.
