Touchless IR Sensor Switch – Effortless lighting control with a simple wave
Whether your hands are messy in the kitchen, you’re wearing gloves in the workshop, or you simply want to maintain high hygiene standards in the bathroom, traditional switches can be a hassle. With this touchless sensor, a simple wave of your hand within 3–8 cm is all it takes to switch your LED lights on, off, or adjust the brightness.
Note: The factory default setting is ON/OFF mode. Advanced features like dimming and fade in/out can be enabled by bridging pins A, B, C, or D on the board, as detailed in the programming instructions below.
Why choose this model? (Key Benefits):
- Zero contact, zero mess — Detects hand gestures from 3–8 cm away, keeping your furniture and surfaces free from fingerprints.
- Integrated ON/OFF and Dimmer — A quick wave toggles the power; a sustained gesture smoothly adjusts the brightness without needing extra hardware.
- Universal 5V, 12V, and 24V DC compatibility — Works seamlessly with your existing LED setups without the need for complex adapters.
- High capacity (3A / 36W) — Powerful enough to handle 2–3 metres of high-density LED strip or bedside spotlights.
- Optional Fade In / Fade Out — Provides smooth, gentle transitions that are easy on the eyes.
- Ultra-compact design (50 × 12 × 7.9 mm) — Easily hidden behind panels, inside cabinet grooves, or under mirrors for a clean, minimalist look.
- Plug-and-play — Ready to use straight out of the box in standard ON/OFF mode; no coding or software required.
Performance and Technical Details
The infrared proximity sensor reacts in a fraction of a second, unaffected by standard ambient lighting. The PWM output ensures smooth, flicker-free dimming rather than stepped adjustments. The internal transistor supports a continuous 3A load, while the precisely calibrated 3–8 cm detection range prevents accidental triggers, even in busy environments.

Programming and Usage Instructions
- Default Mode (ON/OFF): No modification required. A simple wave of the hand turns the light on or off.
- Dimmer Activation: Bridge pins A and B on the PCB to enable dimming. A quick wave toggles power; holding your hand in front of the sensor adjusts the brightness level.
- Fade In / Fade Out Activation: Bridge pins C and D to enable smooth light transitions.
- Advanced Configurations: Pins A, B, C, and D can be combined according to the module datasheet for custom scenarios.
- Wiring: Connect the positive power supply (+) to VCC, negative (–) to GND, and the OUT terminal to the positive input of your LED load. Ensure a common ground with your power supply.
- Testing: Power up the module and move your hand within 3–8 cm of the sensor. The onboard indicator LED will confirm detection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work with standard 12V LED strips?
Yes, it is fully compatible with single-colour 12V DC LED strips. Just ensure your total load does not exceed 3A (maximum 36W at 12V).
Will it trigger accidentally if I walk past it?
The detection zone is strictly calibrated for 3–8 cm. To avoid false triggers, we recommend not mounting the sensor directly opposite highly reflective surfaces or in areas with constant close-proximity movement.
Do I need software or programming skills?
Not at all. It works immediately in ON/OFF mode. Any additional features are enabled by physically bridging pins on the PCB—no apps, drivers, or coding required.
Can I use this with E27 bulbs or 230V mains?
No. This module is designed exclusively for low-voltage DC loads (5V, 12V, or 24V). It is not compatible with 230V AC mains electricity.
