4000W Voltage Regulator with Voltmeter – Precision Power Control Without Compromise
Struggling with a drill that runs too fast for soft wood? Need to fine-tune your angle grinder, or keep an electric heating element at a constant, steady temperature? This variable voltage regulator is the perfect solution—no more guesswork, no more separate bulky equipment. Simply plug in your device, adjust the potentiometer, and monitor the integrated voltmeter to get the exact power output you need.
Note: The integrated voltmeter requires a minimum load of 20W to function accurately and will not display correctly below 5V.
Why choose this model? (Key Advantages):
- 4000W / 18A Peak Load — Handles high-power electric tools with ease. The robust metal casing acts as a passive heatsink to prevent overheating.
- Integrated Panel Voltmeter — View your output voltage in real-time without needing an external multimeter or making estimations.
- 0–230V Continuous Adjustment — No fixed steps; enjoy smooth, precise control over motor speed or heat intensity.
- Resistive and Inductive Load Compatible — Works perfectly with incandescent bulbs, heating elements, ovens, drills, grinders, and electric saws.
- Front-Facing Universal Socket — Connect your equipment directly without the need for extra adapters or messy cables.
- Earthed Plug — Designed with safety in mind, featuring a reliable earthed connection for every use.
- Dedicated ON/OFF Switch — Easily cut the power without having to unplug the device from the wall.
Performance and Technical Details
This unit utilizes TRIAC phase-control technology, allowing for smooth, continuous voltage adjustment without jumps or interruptions. The 9A nominal current ensures stability during prolonged use, while the 18A peak capacity handles the high-torque startup of motors without tripping your circuit protection. The metal housing isn’t just for durability—it serves as a passive radiator, keeping internal components within safe temperature limits even after hours of continuous operation.

Instructions for Use
- Connect the regulator to a standard 230V mains outlet using the earthed plug.
- Plug your electrical equipment (tool, lamp, heater) into the front universal socket.
- Before switching on, rotate the potentiometer fully to the left—the minimum position (0V).
- Flip the ON/OFF switch to power the circuit.
- Slowly rotate the potentiometer to the right to increase the voltage. Monitor the integrated voltmeter for precise readings.
- For hard materials (steel, hardwood, aluminium), use lower speeds; for softer materials (veneer, composites, pine), you can increase the voltage as required.
- Once finished, turn the potentiometer back to the minimum and switch the ON/OFF button to the off position.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with washing machine motors or three-phase motors?
No. This regulator is exclusively compatible with single-phase universal motors (230V AC)—the type found in drills, grinders, or electric saws. It is not suitable for capacitor-start motors or three-phase motors.
Can I use this with LED or energy-saving bulbs?
We do not recommend it. This regulator is designed for resistive loads (incandescent bulbs, halogen, heating elements) and universal motors. Using it with LED bulbs may cause flickering, noise, or damage to the bulb.
Does the voltmeter display correctly from 0V?
The voltmeter is accurate from a minimum of 5V and requires a connected load of at least 20W to provide precise measurements. Below these values, the display may be inactive or inaccurate.
Is it safe for continuous use at maximum power?
The 9A nominal current is recommended for continuous operation. The 18A (4000W) capacity is intended for short-duration startup peaks. For prolonged heavy-duty work, keep the load below 80% of the nominal value and ensure there is adequate ventilation around the device.
