XT90 male-female connectors: the connection that handles 90A without giving way
Know that feeling when a plug gets warm after just a few minutes of use? Or when the contact becomes flaky after a few disconnects? The XT90 connector set eliminates precisely those issues — engineered for high currents and built to endure hundreds of cycles.
Note: The set contains 5 pairs (5 female plugs + 5 male plugs), ready for use or soldering.
Why choose this model? (Key advantages):
- 90A current rating — handles surge peaks up to 120A without thermal deformation, ideal for brushless motors and high-capacity LiPo packs
- Gold-plated copper contact — minimal contact resistance, preventing oxidation after months of use in damp or dusty environments
- Flame-retardant PA66 nylon housing — won’t melt or warp even under repeated high-temperature stress
- Integrated anti-spark system — internal resistor reduces the electrical arc on initial connection, protecting your capacitors and ESC
- Universal compatibility — recognised XT90 standard, fits any accessory, charger, or ESC using the same format
- Value 5-pair set — gives you spares or lets you kit out multiple projects at once without placing multiple orders
Details & Performance
The gold or silver-plated copper contacts ensure excellent conductivity even after hundreds of mating cycles. The anti-spark resistor integrated into the female plug absorbs the initial current surge, protecting sensitive circuit components. The flame-retardant PA66 nylon body maintains its shape and rigidity at temperatures up to 120°C, holding firm under strain from fixing clamps.

Assembly and Usage Instructions
- Strip about 5–6 mm of insulation from the cable and lightly tin the wire tip before soldering.
- Insert the cable into the metal pin of the connector and apply your soldering iron to the base of the pin — not directly onto the plastic.
- Allow it to cool completely before inserting the pin into the nylon housing — forcing it while hot can warp the retention channel.
- Check polarity before plugging in for the first time: mount the female plug (with resistor) always on the battery side, and the male plug on the load side (ESC, motor, inverter).
- Upon initial connection, you may hear a faint muted click — this is completely normal as the resistor limits the inrush current.
Package Contents

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use these connectors for 48V or 52V e-bike batteries?
Yes. The maximum permitted voltage is 500V DC, so 48V or 52V are well below the limit. However, always verify that your cable gauge can handle your motor’s peak current draw.
Do I need a separate anti-spark resistor?
No. The female plug in this set features a built-in resistor right inside the housing. There is no need to add any external components.
What wire gauge fits best?
10AWG cables are ideal for currents approaching 90A. For applications under 50A, 12AWG is more than sufficient and much easier to solder.
Can these be used without soldering, using clamps or screws?
No — XT90 pins are strictly designed for soldering with an iron. A mechanical connection without solder will fail quickly under high currents and can cause dangerous overheating.
