800A Spot Welder – Build Professional-Grade Battery Packs

When building or repairing battery packs, a weak weld is not an option. Poor contact leads to increased resistance, excess heat, and ultimately, a useless battery pack. This 800A spot welder with an integrated battery provides the solution: a powerful, precise pulse that gives you total control without the hassle of restrictive power cables.

Note: This device operates exclusively on its integrated 6500mAh battery. Do not use while connected to the charger. Ensure the display shows a minimum voltage of 7.3V before beginning your work.

Why choose this model? (Key Advantages):

  • 800A output current (1000A peak) — Delivers firm, uniform welds on nickel strips without damaging the Li-ion cells underneath.
  • 10 adjustable power levels — Easily switch between 0.1mm and 0.25mm strip thicknesses with clear, recommended settings for each level.
  • Integrated 6500mAh battery — Complete hundreds of welds on a single charge, allowing you to work anywhere without hunting for a power outlet.
  • Foot pedal included — Keeps both hands free to hold the strip and cell in the perfect position, triggering the weld with your foot.
  • Compact and portable (480g, 178 × 87 × 27 mm) — Fits easily into any tool bag, making it ideal for on-site repairs or small workshops.
  • Universal compatibility — Works seamlessly with 18650, 21700, 26650, Li-ion, Ni-MH, and Ni-Cd cells without needing extra adapters.

Performance and Technical Details

At the heart of this welder is a 2 × 5V / 6500mAh internal lithium battery, which releases a concentrated energy pulse in a fraction of a second—just enough for a solid weld, but not enough to overheat your cells. The 1000A peak current ensures deep penetration of the nickel strip, while the 800A stable output maintains consistency from the first weld to the last. The contact tips are wear-resistant, but after heavy use, a quick touch-up with fine-grit sandpaper will restore them to peak performance.

Programming and Usage Instructions

  1. Check the voltage on the display—it must be at least 7.3V before starting.
  2. Select the power level based on your nickel strip thickness:
    • Level 50.1 mm strip
    • Level 60.15 mm strip
    • Level 80.25 mm strip
  3. Place the nickel strip over the battery terminal and press the contact tips firmly onto the surface.
  4. Press the foot pedal to trigger the welding pulse.
  5. Hold the tips in place for approximately 0.5 seconds, then release the pedal.
  6. Check the weld quality. If the bond is insufficient, increase the power level by one increment and try again.
  7. After finishing your session, disconnect the pedal and store the device in a cool, dry place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the welder while it is charging?

No. Using the device while connected to the charger can damage the internal battery and reduce weld quality. Please charge the device fully before use.

What is the maximum nickel strip thickness supported?

The recommended range is 0.1 mm – 0.25 mm. For thicker strips, a higher-powered industrial unit would be required.

Does it work with 21700 and 26650 cells, or just 18650?

Yes. It is compatible with all standard cylindrical formats: 18650, 21700, 26650, and others, regardless of whether they are Li-ion, Ni-MH, or Ni-Cd.

The contact tips have turned black and the welds are weak. What should I do?

Oxidation is normal after heavy use. Simply sand the tips with fine-grit sandpaper until they are clean again, and your weld quality will be restored instantly.

How many welds can I perform on a single charge?

The 6500mAh battery provides hundreds of consecutive welds. The exact number depends on the power level and the thickness of the nickel strip being used.
