16S 60V 30A BMS – Complete protection for your electric scooter battery
The battery in an electric scooter rarely fails overnight. Instead, it degrades cell by cell due to voltage imbalances, repeated overcharging, or unprotected short circuits. This 16S 60V 30A BMS module stops these issues in their tracks before they become a serious problem.
Note: This board uses a common port configuration, meaning both charging and discharging are handled through the same terminals (B- and P-). It is exclusively compatible with 16-cell Li-ion packs connected in series.
Why choose this model? (Key Advantages):
- 4-in-1 Simultaneous Protection — Monitors overcharging, over-discharging, over-current, and short circuits in real-time without requiring manual intervention.
- Passive Cell Balancing — Equalises voltage during every charge cycle, preventing uneven wear that can reduce your battery’s range by 20–30% over time.
- Integrated Thermal Sensor — Automatically cuts the circuit if overheating is detected and reactivates it once cooled, ensuring total peace of mind.
- 30A Continuous, 50A Peak — Easily handles e-scooter or e-bike motors up to 2500W, even during sudden acceleration or steep climbs.
- Common Port Design — Simplifies wiring by using a single pair of terminals for both charging and discharging, ideal for vehicles without a dedicated charging port.
- Broad Li-ion Compatibility — Works seamlessly with ternary, LiMn, and LiCoO2 cells (3.7V nominal) without needing modifications.
Performance and Specifications
At the heart of this module is a multi-level protection circuit with high-power MOSFETs, engineered to handle a 30A continuous current and 50A peak bursts without overheating. The overcharge cutoff threshold is set at 4.25V/cell, while deep discharge protection triggers at 2.6V/cell—values precisely calibrated to maximise your battery’s cycle life. The passive balancing function redistributes energy between cells during the charging phase, correcting imbalances before they become irreversible.

Installation and Setup Guide
- Connect the balance monitoring wires to each of the 16 Li-ion cells, following the order shown in the included diagram.
- Solder the B- terminal to the negative pole of the battery pack.
- Plug the balance wire harness into the BMS board.
- Connect B+ to the positive pole of the battery and P- to your common charging/discharging port.
- Verify the output voltage with a multimeter before first use.
- Connect your charger and monitor the first 2–3 full cycles to allow the cells to balance properly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this BMS for a 13S or 20S battery?
No. This module is designed exclusively for 16-cell Li-ion packs in series (16S). Using it with a different number of cells will likely damage both the board and your battery pack.
What does ‘common port’ mean?
It means you use the same terminals to charge the battery and power the motor, which significantly simplifies the installation process.
Is it compatible with LiFePO4?
No, this model is strictly configured for 3.7V nominal Li-ion cells.
